Discussion
The specimens from the State of Bahia were collected by Froes on his trip in 1943 in the service of the Chicle Development Co. of New York. On checking, we find that three of these specimens distributed by Instituto Agronômico do Norte are merely duplicates of the original sets distributed from The New York Botanical Garden. All of these specimens were cited by us as of S. diaboli (2: 22; 5: 8)4 and we now find that they are best placed under S. solimoesana. The first record of the species from the State of Bahia. S. solimoesana is a huge bush-rope confined to the high forest on terra firme.
