Description
Species Description - Mature fruits more or less globose or ovoid, small, the largest examined 2.7 cm in diam, shell very thin, ±0.5 mm thick, dark yellow, shining, smooth; testa crustaceous, seeds usually 1 or 2, more or less discoid, about 13 mm long and 10 mm broad; fruit-pedicels about 2 mm in diam (Froes 31705 and others). Fruits and seeds resemble those of S. pseudo-quina.

Discussion
Distribution and Ecology: The first record of the species from the State of Amazonas (Parintins), and from the basins of Rio Xingu and Rio Tapajos, in the State of Para. The specimens examined from Brazil were collected on terra firme, both in virgin and secondary forests; those in flower in November-December. The species is a small bush-rope rather rare in the Brazilian Amazonia but common in Surinam.
