    Species Description - The distinctive character of this species is based on the length of 5 spike, which is 5-7 cm in A. discolor and up to 24 cm in A. schomburgkii.

    Distribution and Ecology - Limited to the Hylaea with a short northern extension into Venezuela along the Rio Negro.
