Description
Genus Description - Hieronyma is easy to recognize by the peculiar lepidote indumentum. In distinction from Richeria the male spikes are true racemes and not cymules. It is well represented in the West Indies, Central America, and the (Guianas, but only in the eastern part of the Guayana Highland, and somewhat disjunctly in the foothills of the Andes and upper part of Amazon Valley.
