Description
Latin Diagnosis - Frutex 2-metralis; foliis petiolatis, petiolis 2-7 mm longis, laminis ovatis apice obtusis vel subacutis vel rotundatis basi subacutis vel obtusis 4.5-8.5 x 2.7-6 cm glabris, nervis lateralibus utroque latere 3-4 subtus subelevatis, venulis tertiariis subtus laxe reticulatis; pedicellis 1.2-3 cm longis sparse glandulosopubescentibus; bracteis sub pedicellis ovalibus vel obovato-ellipticis apice rotundatis 3-4 X 2-2.5 mm, pedicellorum bracteolis oppositis vel alternis plerumque 1/3-1/2 longitudinem pedicellorum insidentibus oblongo-spathulatis vel ellipticooblongis vel anguste oblongis 2-2.5 x 0.7-3 mm obtusis vel rotundatis vel subacutis pilis glandulosis elongatis praeditis; calycis tubo profunde campanulato 3 X 3.5 mm pilis glandulosis praeditis, limbo 1.5 x 5 mm apice undulato vel obsolete lobato pilis glandulosis praedito; coroUa cylindrica 10 mm longa glabra, tubo 7 mm longo basi 4 mm lato, lobis anguste oblongis obtusis 3 x 1.5 mm; antherarum loculis 2 mm longis apice in calcar productis, tubulis 3.5-4 mm longis attenuatis supra basin 0.7-1 mm processu anguste alato instructis, filamentis taeniformibus 3 mm longis basi 0.7-1 mm latis dimidio superiore secus margines sparse pubescentibus.

Discussion
Type. VENEZUELA. Territorio de Amazonas: Cerro Duida, along North Escarpment, 1400 m alt, 20 Nov 1950; densely branching shrub 2 m high, Maguire, Cowan & Wurdack 29564 (holotype NY). This taxon is related to T. glandulifera A. C. Smith, from which it maybe distinguished by its racemose inflorescence, glandular hairs of the calyx, glaucous pedicels, and foliar floral bracts.
