  • Discussion

This southeastern Brazilian species is best known in the States of Matto Grosso and Minas Gerais and hardly known north of those areas. Only one previous collection has been made in Venezuela; Dr. Lasser collected the plant in the State of Apure where he noted it as "very common" along the rivers. These recent collections match authentic material of the species very well, although the flowers in our collections are slightly larger.
