  • Discussion

Specimens have been collected in flower in January, February, April, May, October and November and in fruit in May and October. The fruit maybe the largest known in the genus Emmotum. The mature fruit is depressed, 1.2 cm high and circular in outline, 1.5-2 cm in diameter. The calyx is commonly off-center and the stylar rudiment distinctly eccentric. The fruit is commonly strongly 3-ridged, these radiating from the style and the edge of the fruit is strongly undulate. The holotype of this species is attributed to Hamilton from ''Guyana" but has not been seen.
