Discussion
Type. Petals pink, stamens yellow, pitcher appendage slightly developed, frequent on escarpment in spray of falls, 1 km N Camp 8, at lower escarpment base, northwest slope of Churi-tepui, Chimanta-tepui, 2050 m alt, Estado Bolivar, Venezuela, 29 Jan 1953, John J. Wurdack 34262 (holotype NY). In the var exappendiculata the appendage has become completely or essentially lost, and the inner glandular area lowered to the apex of the leaf.
