Kaieteur Plateau: Jenman 1259 (K, photo NY); Maguire & Fanshaule 23460 [female] (K, NY, US), 23460A [female] (NY), 23461 [female] (K, NY); Mt. Ebini, Maguire 32125 [female] (NY). VENEZUELA: Edo. Bolivar: "Roraima" Schomburgk 717 (holotype P, isotypes G, K, V, NY); Abacapa-tepui at 1300 m alt., Steyermark 75199 (F, NY); Mt. Roraima, 1030-1115 m alt., Steyermark 58606 (holotype of C. roraimana F, photo NY, isotype NY).

    Type: "Roraima" Schomburgk 717.

    None of the type specimens of C. schotiiburgkii are well collected or preserved specimens. Primarily on the basis of foliar similarity, however, with some hesitation, C. roraimana Steyermark is brought under synonomy with C. schomburgkii. Likewise, similarity of vegetative character requires the assignment of the Kaieteur specimens cited above to that species.
