Species Description - Tree to 25 m. tall.

Distribution
Frequent along river banks, Murcielago Falls, Sipapo River, November 17, 1948, Maguire & Politi 27317. This is the first record of this variety in Venezuela and is a northward extension of the range from the Amazon region. Var. densiflora differs from the typical variety in its pubescent ovary; the pubescence persists also on the fruit.
