    Distribution and Ecology - New to the Yukon. A species of acidic rocks reported from Alaska, Greenland and Labrador, south to Virginia in the east and Colorado in the west. Occurring on dry granitic boulders at Keele Peak, often in association with G affinis. Grimmia incurva, another species of acid rocks, also occurs at Keele; it is a rare arcticalpine species reported from Tombstone Mountain, in the central Yukon, by Vitt and Horton (1978).
