Description
Species Description - Plants yellow or brownish-yellow. Stems up to 3 cm long; branches subcomplanate to julaceous, up to 0.5 cm long, horizontally spreading. Stem leaves patent, 0.7-1.1 x 0.5-0.8 mm, widely ovate to triangular-ovate, abmptly narrowed to a short, curved acumen, cordate at base; upper median cells 20-50 x 2-3 µm (rarely with lower angles only indistinctly projecting); alar cells weakly differentiated, short-rectangular. Branch leaves 0.6-0.9 x 0.3-0.5 mm. Perichaetial leaves subentire. Setae 2-3 cm long; capsules oblong-cylindric, inclined to horizontal, shghtiy curved, 2-2.6 mm long, 0.6-0.8 mm broad; exothecial cells rectangular; operculum conic-rostellate; cilia of endostome 2-3. Spores ± 10 µm. Calyptrae sparsely hairy.

The species is distinguished from C. diminutivum by less-flattened branches, wider, more cordate stem leaves with curved acumina, only slightly differentiated alar cells, and longer-cylindric capsules.
