S. stenocarpum (Hampe & C. Müll.) Fleisch., Musci Fl. Buitenzorg 4: 1177. 1919.
Acroporium ulicinum (Mitt.) Crum, Bryologist 89: 26. 1986.
The plants are considerably smaller than those of A. pungens Distinctive characters include the straight, stiffspreading, narrow leaves with narrowly recurved margins.
The genus Schraderobryum Fleisch., as discussed by Crum (1986), can scarcely be maintained as distinct from Acroporium. Judging from its description, Schraderobryum minutipes appears to be identical to Acroporium estrellae. (Cardot's remarks on the species, as Sematophyllum, betray his own lack of confidence in it.) Schraderobryum subpungens, on the other hand, can be synonymized with Acroporium pungens.
