Description
Species Description - Plants rather more robust than R. flexuosa. Stems about 4 mm wide (with leaves). Leaves crowded, somewhat complanate, not or shghtiy falcate at tips, 2.5 mm long, oblong-ovate, acuminate; margins coarsely serrate above the middle; cells linear, thin-walled, laxer toward the leaf base.

Philophyllum tenuifolium (Mitt.) Broth, has been found in Guatemala as a disjunct from Brazil and Peru. It grows submerged in the water tanks formed by the leaf bases of epiphytic bromeliads. The glossy, slender and flaccid plants have complanate, gradually long-acuminate, subentire leaves with costa none or short and double and cells smooth and elongatehexagonal. Distribution
On a damp, shaded roadbank in a cloud forest at 3000 m alt. (Oaxaca, S of Valle Nacional, Whittemore & Leidig 1889A, MEXU, MO).—Mexico; northern South America; Jamaica.
