    Species Description - Plants slender, up to 4 cm high, in rather dense, dull-green tufts, irregularly branched and subpinnately rebranched above a stipitate base; branches flat or ± julaceous, often blunt-tipped. Stipe leaves broadly triangular, short-acuminate, often eroded at the margins. Frond leaves spreading, concave, about 1.6 mm long, oblong-ovate, abruptly shortacute; margins erect, sharply denticulate above; costa about 2/3 the leaf length; cells at the apex short (hexagonal, subquadrate, or rhombic), evenly thick-walled, more elongate below, linear at base. Setae 9 mm long, slender, slightly pustulate at the tip; capsules 2 mm long, ovoid, short-necked; operculum 1.5 mm long; endostome about as long as the teeth, with perforate segments and papillose cilia. Spores 11-16 µm.
