Description
Genus Description - Epiphytic and lithophytic herbs usually with prominent pseudobulbs. Leaves 1 to several at pseudobulb apex, coriaceous to fleshy. Inflorescences terminal racemes or panicles. Flowers few to many, resupinate or not, usually fragrant; sepals subequal, spreading or reflexed; petals similar to but sometimes narrower (rarely broader) than sepals; lip simple to 3-lobed, partially fused to base of column, with or without callus; column semiterete, dilated towards apex, usually 3-toothed at apex; pollinia 4, waxy. Capsule various, winged or wingless, sometimes verruculose.
