    Species Description - Shrubby plant to 2 m tall; rhizome without specialized branches. Inflorescences with chartaceous, green bracts, the flower pairs on long peduncles, each flower distinctly pedicellate. Flowers diurnal, white, sometimes with outer staminodes pale lavender. Fruit orangish. Seeds black with white aril.

    Distribution and Ecology - Fl (Jan, Feb, Jul, Aug, Oct, Nov), fr (Jan, Feb, Mar, May, Jul, Dec); common in larger light gaps of primary and secondary forest and in shady secondary vegetation. Bababoi
