    Species Description - Shrubby plants to 2 m tall; rhizome without specialized branches. Leaves all or nearly all cauline. Inflorescences with 1 or 2, chartaceous, green bracts, the flower pairs on long peduncles, each flower distinctly pedicellate. Flowers crepuscular or nocturnal, white throughout.

    Distribution and Ecology - Fl (Jan, Aug, Sep, Nov in other parts of French Guiana); in low-growing forest on rocky outcrops; selfing and usually with abundant fruit
