Description
Species Description - Plants to ca. 0.5 m tall; rhizome with thin, subterranean, scale-covered runners; roots with subterminal, starch-storing tubers. Leaves basal and cauline. Inflorescences with several to numerous, membranous, ± brownish bracts, the flower pairs on long peduncles, each flower shortly pedicellate. Flowers diurnal, white with a dark lavender spot on the callose staminode.
Distribution and Ecology - Fl (Jan, Mar, Apr, May); locally common in small light gaps in primary and secondary forest on well drained ground.
