Species Description - Plants to 1.5 m tall; rhizome with specialized, thickened, starch-storing branches covered by papery scales. Leaves mostly basal. Inflorescences with 1-3, chartaceous, green bracts, the flower pairs on long peduncles, each flower distinctly pedicellate. Flowers crepuscular to nocturnal, white.
