Description
Genus Description - Rosulate or shrubby herbs. Leaves either in a basal cluster or on elongate aerial branches, then always separated by distinct internodes. Inflorescences with distichous bracts, the flower pairs subsessile to usually conspicuously pedunculate. Flowers: corolla tube distinct, sometimes very long and narrow; outer staminodes paired; ovary with 1 fertile locule. Fruit 1-seeded.
