Description
Species Description - Plants to 3.5 m tall, the leaves gathered in fan-like cluster at top of a leafless, cane-like stem. Leaves: blade ovate, with markedly displaced apex, glaucous and papillose abaxially. Inflorescences 6—12 mm diam., clustered into a distinct, terminal synflorescence. Flowers: staminodes yellow.
Distribution and Ecology - Fl (Mar); common along streams and at edge of swamp forests, often forming extensive stands in shady secondary vegetation on moist ground.
