Description
Species Description - Plants moderately robust, yellow-green above, yellow-brown to brown below. Secondary stems up to 10 cm high, sometimes forked, curved-ascending. Leaves erect or ± spreading, often secund, 2.5-3.5 mm long, ovate-lanceolate, acuminate, ± plicate; margins plane or ± recurved, serrulate above; upper cells linear-rhomboidal, thick-walled. Perichaetial leaves often reaching the base ofthe capsule or sometimes the middle ofthe urn. Setae 3-5, rarely 13 mm long; capsules exserted, ovoid, 2.5-3.5 mm long; operculum obliquely subulate; peristome teeth up to 3 50 µm long, faintly papillose; endostome rudimentary. Spores 23-35 µm and unicellular and also 45-85(-120) µm and multicellular, smooth or faintly papillose.

Distribution
On trees, logs, and rarely rocks, at 1900-3100 m alt.; Chiapas, Distrito Federal, Hidalgo, Jalisco, Mexico, Michoacan, Morelos, Nuevo Leon, Oaxaca, Puebla, San Luis Potosi, Veracruz.—Mexico; Guatemala, Costa Rica, and Panama.
