Description
Species Description - Succulent herbs. Stems with short hairs. Leaf sheaths covered with short hairs, the margins ciliate with long, red hairs; blade elliptic, 2.5-6 X 1.5-2.5 cm, finely pubescent, densely so on midrib. Upper cyme 1-flowered. Flowers of two types, the chasmogamous ones blue to violet, subtended by pubescent green spathe, the cleistogamous ones white, from specialized subterranean stems.
Distribution and Ecology - Fl (Nov); naturalized and adventive near village.
