    Species Description - Plants green, medium-sized, 1-3 cm high; stoloniform branches prostrate, up to 10 cm long, tightly attached to the substrate by brown rhizoids. Leaves much longer at the stem tips, undulate, ± crisped when dry, 4.8-8.5 x 1.8-3.5 mm, oblong-elliptic, broadly rounded-obtuse to emarginate, apiculate, shortly tapered to the base, ± broadly decurrent; margins serrate to the base, the teeth l-2(-3)-celled; costa ending at or somewhat below the apex; cells ± isodiametric, hexagonal, quadrate, or short-rectangular, 22-42 x 12-22 µm, thick-walled when old; juxtacostal cells conspicuously enlarged in the upper part ofthe leaf, twice as large as the median cells. Leaves of stolons often larger and more remote, not as decurrent, sometimes subentire. Synoicous. Setae clustered, 15-30 mm long; capsules horizontal to cernuous, ca. 2.5 mm long; operculum rostrate; stomata scattered over the entire capsule. Spores 18-24 µm.
