    Species Description - Hemiepiphytic vines or appressed climbers, sometimes terrestrial on soil or rocks. Stems to 2.5 m long, the internodes on twining plants to 32 X 1.7-2.5 cm, those on plants with short internodes usually 1.5-5 X 1.5-4 cm, light brown, weakly glossy; cataphylls sharply D-shaped in transverse section, unribbed except weakly 2-ribbed at apex, 4-15 cm long, deciduous. Leaves: petiole subterete, 28-94 cm long; blade 3-5-lobed with a large apical lobe and hastate posterior lobes when young, becoming irregularly and narrowly or broadly lobed (often almost to midrib) in age, to 75 X 66 cm, the anterior lobe to 51 cm long, the lateral lobes to 33 cm wide. Inflorescences 3-6 per axil, the peduncle 5-9 cm long; spathe 16-19 cm long, the tube green, the blade whitish abaxially, creamy but tinged dark maroon at base adaxially; spadix protruding prominently forward at anthesis.
