Description
Species Description - Epiphytic herbs. Stems creeping, usually <30 cm X ca. 1 mm diam., the internodes short; cataphylls ca. 4 cm long, the fibers persisting, reddish brown. Leaves: petiole sharply C-shaped, broadly sulcate, 1.3-6 cm long and about 1/3 as long as blades; blade elliptic to lanceolate, 9-17 X 1.7—4.5 cm, glandular- punctate on lower surface; collective vein arising from base. Inflorescences erect, the peduncle to 8 cm long; spathe oblong-elliptic, erect (remaining erect in fruit), shorter than spadix; spadix 2-4 cm long, narrowly cone-shaped, dark lavender to green or white. Pistil whitish. Berries white at base, sometimes tipped with lavender or pale lavender. Seeds 4 or more per berry.
Distribution and Ecology - Fl (year round); moderately common.
