    Species Description - Rhizomes short-creeping, woody, 5-15 mm diam., buried in mass of rootlets, with imbricate, acuminate, bicolorous scales 8-12 mm long. Fronds erect, to 1.2 m long; petiole robust, 5—15 cm long; blade oblanceolate, attenuate at base, round to abruptly acute at apex, coriaceous, the margin cartilaginous; secondary veins oblique, prominent, 4-10 mm apart, the veinlets forming areoles enclosing one free veinlet. Sori round, prominent, 1.5-3.5 mm diam., located in a single row between secondary veins.

    Distribution and Ecology - In clearings in lowland and cloud forests.
