    Genus Description - Plants epiphytic. Rhizomes creeping or short erect, slender or robust, generally with scales. Fronds dimorphic, simple. Sterile fronds usually with phyllopodium, with a distinct node from which the frond falls, generally with scales, often pubescent, rarely glabrous; blade linear, elliptic, or round, the margins entire; veins free or reticulate toward margin, the areoles without included veinlets. Fertile fronds generally with narrowed blades and proportionately longer petioles than sterile fronds. Sporangia covering abaxial surface of blade, except for midrib and margin.
