Description
Genus Description - Rhizomes creeping, slender, covered with fimbriate scales. Fronds spaced, ca. 25 cm to several m long, several times pseudodichotomously branched; pinnae with pinnatisect segments; veins free, single or forked. Sori of 2-4 sporangia, without indusium, with paraphyses. The New World members of this genus are sometimes segregated as Sticherus (Smith, 1995b).
