    Species Description - Fronds bipinnate but juvenile fronds often pinnate, with terminal pinnules similar but smaller in size to others, the apex becoming pinnatifid; petiole pale brown; blade 20-65 cm long, with (1)4-7(13) pairs of subopposite or alternate pinnae, the young plants usually with fewer pairs of pinnae than illustrated in Figure 27F, 10-25 cm long; pinnules rounded, in 30-70 pairs, often overlapping, 7-12 mm long, the upper ones reduced. Sori continuous along margin. Scattered but common, in swamps and along river margins.
