Description
Species Description - Plants small, light- to yellow-green. Stems up to 15 mm high. Leaves wide-spreading and flexuose w h e n dry, sometimes deciduous, 3-6 mm long, gradually acuminate from an oblong base; upper cells subquadrate to short-rectangular, 7-14 x 5-7 µm, with several rows of linear cells forming a hyahne border that is narrowed above and consists of 1-2 rows of cells in the upper 1/3 of the leaf. Not fruiting in Mexico.

Leucoloma subimmarginatum (C. Mull.) Jaeg. of Costa Rica and Cuba appears to differ only in its smaller size (leaves scarcely 3 mm long, shortly and stoutly pointed). It was reported from Tamaulipas by Manuel (1972).
