Description
Genus Description - Monoecious, erect herbs with straight and stinging hairs. Leaves alternate, simple, serrate, long-petiolate; stipules free or connate. Flowers in axillary panicles; staminate flowers 4-5-merous, with a rudimentary ovary; pistillate flowers 4-merous, with oblique, 1- locular ovary with erect ovule, the stigma papillose; tepals imbricate. Fruit an oblique achene.
