    Genus Description - Herbs, subshrubs, or shrubs, erect or decumbent, pubescent or hirsute, sometimes viscid. Leaves ovate, the base cordate, margin dentate. Flowers axillary, solitary, or borne on several-flowered peduncles; involucel absent; calyx 5-lobed, the lobes lanceolate or ovate; corolla white or yellow; androecium included, bearing anthers at apex. Fruit schizocarpic, oblate, inflated, pendent; mericarps 10 or more, dehiscent, with fragile walls, 1-3-seeded, pubescent or hispid; seeds glabrous or minutely scabridulous.
