Description
Species Description - Tree to 13 m tall; bark brown, smooth, slightly fissured; branches cylindrical, smooth, glabrous. Leaves 15-28 cm long; pinnae 3-5 pairs; rachis furrowed, glabrous, without glands; leaflets alternate, 11-21 per pinna, 1-4.3 cm long, oblong to ovate, chartaceous, the apex rounded and mucronulate, the base rounded-obtuse, asymmetrical, the margins entire; stipules lacking. Racemes axillary, to 25 cm long. Calyx 1-1.2 mm long, puberulent; petals free to base, cream to white, 2.7-3 mm long; stamens as long as the corolla. Legume 15-20 x 1.3-1.5 cm, linear, flattened, glabrous, dehiscent from top to bottom by twisting valves. Seeds 8-9 mm long, ovoid-compressed, slightly angled, bright orange-red, shiny.

Distribution
Occasional in moist forests. Along trail to Petroglyphs (A2930). Native to tropical Asia, persistent after cultivation; naturalized throughout the tropics.
