  • Description

    Species Description - Arching or scandent shrub, 1-3 m long, many-branched from base. Leaves unifoliolate; blades 6-12 x 4.5-8 cm, ovate or oblong, coriaceous, glabrous, the apex obtuse to shortly acuminate, the base rounded to nearly cordate, the margins entire; petioles 5-10 mm long; stipules awl-shaped to lanceolate, 0.5-1 cm long, late deciduous. Panicles 1-3 cm long, densely ferruginous-tomentose; bracts minute, early deciduous. Calyx bell-shaped, ca. 2.5 mm long, ferruginous-tomentose; corolla pinkish to white, the standard nearly rounded, clawed, notched at apex, to 7 mm long, the wings longer than the standard. Legume 2-2.3 x 1.5-2 cm, nearly rounded, flattened, turning from green to brown, indehiscent. Seed 1, to 1.7 cm long, oblong.
