Description
Species Description - Erect subwoody shrub to 2 m tall, producing abundant milky sap; stems slightly angular, slender, puberulent. Leaf blades 8-21 x 3.5-8.5 cm, chartaceous, lanceolate, the lower surface densely covered with minute, velvety hairs, especially along the prominent veins, the apex long-acuminate, the base cordate to truncate, the margins entire; petioles slender, 2-7 cm long. Calyx light green, with 5 ovate sepals, the apex obtuse, 6-7 mm long; corolla funnelshaped, pink or light purple, the tube darker within, 5-8 cm long, with rounded lobes; stamens and pistil pink, included. Capsule thin-walled, ovoid, straw-colored, 1.5 mm long. Seeds usually 4 per capsule, brown, covered with woolly hairs.
