Description
Genus Description - Small trees, erect or rarely scandent shrubs. Leaves simple, usually with budlike extrafloral nectaries at axils. Flowers bisexual and regular, in short racemes or solitary. Stamens numerous, much longer than the petals (2-3 times as long); ovary oblong, on a more or less elongate stipe (gynophore). Fruit elongate and opening along one side or short cylindrical and indehiscent or irregularly rupturing; seeds numerous, in 2 rows along fruit wall, covered with a fleshy coat.
