    Genus Description - Annual to perennial herbs. Leaves alternate, rarely simple, pinnately divided to tripinnate. Flowers in terminal racemes; hyaline; petals obovate or spatulate, white, rarely pink or yellow; stamens 6, 4, or 2; nectary glands present; ovary with 2 ovules, the style short or absent, the stigma capitate. Fruit a lenticular, ovate, elliptic, or oblong silique, the septum transverse; seeds pendulous, 1 per locule.
