Description
Species Description - Stems prostrate, rooting throughout, not articulate, not flagelliform, not stoloniferous, branches 5-10 mm apart, secondary branches short, 1-2 cm long, upturned; isophyllous throughout; leaves somewhat spreading, more so on top, bluish-grayish-green, linear-lanceolate, margin short-ciliate, apex acuminate, seta lacking, base pubescent; strobili quadrangular, long, mostly 1.5-2 cm long; sporophylls monomor-phic, green, ascending, lanceolate, similar to vegetative leaves, long-ciliate to base; megaspores pale to bright orange, 270-380 µm diam., rugose; microspores bright orange.

Discussion
Type. United States. Texas: Uvalde Co., Turkey Creek, nr. Cline, Wright 828 (B; isotypes GH!, NY!, US!) R. Tryon (1955) reported that this is the only species in the S. rupestris group that he could class definitely as a calciphile.
