    Species Description - Fronds 0.5-1 m long, lacking free lobes between segments; rachis slightly to strongly pubescent; penultimate axes pubescent abaxially with hairs white and others scattered, clear brown, straight, 1-1.5 mm long, adaxially with hairs short, white, and others short, red-tipped, glandular, in medial groove only; midveins terete; laminar surface abaxially with hairs dense, 0.50.8 mm long, white, on veins only, surface between veins glabrous, adaxially with only hairs scattered to rare (only along reflexed margin), 0.5-0.8 mm long, white; false indusium 0.5-0.8 mm wide with erose margin, with scattered to numerous long cilia.

Syntypes. Mexico. [Veracruz:] Huatusco, Schaffner 138, 141; Popocatépetl, Schaffner 286 (P?). Pteridium feei is distinguished by the possession of the full suite of characters as given in the key and description (no free lobes, non-arachnoid hairs on veins only, broad ciliate indusia, long (1.0-1.5 mm) straight, clear, brown hairs, no minute glandular hairs adaxially or minute clavate hairs abaxially).
