Description
Distribution and Ecology - Floating leaves orbicular-cordate, often crowded and folded, mostly 10-20 mm long, 8-18 mm broad (sometimes becoming larger), rather dark green, firmly herbaceous. Sori long-stalked, globose whitish, 1.5-2.5 mm in diam., in loose or diffuse groups of three to eight.General Distribution. Rorida, Cuba, Hispaniola, Puerto Rico (cultivated), and continental tropical America; introduced in Africa.Distribution in Puerto Rico. Reported to occur in ponds near Fajardo (Liogier & Martorell, 1982), but no specimens seen.Habitat. Same as for S. minima; quite often seen in cultivation.]
