Description
Species Description - Rhizome 1-4(-6) cm long, 0.5-0.75 mm thick, straw-colored, bearing dark, pluricellular, articulate hairs. Floating fronds elongate-orbicular, 7-15 mm long, 6-13 mm broad, the pale green upper surface bearing numerous pale, bristle-like papillae, these giving rise to four spreading hairs at apex; submerged fronds up to ca. 3 cm long, clothed with numerous hairs like those of rhizome.

Syn. Salvinia rotundifolia of some authors, not Willdenow, 1810.
