Description
Species Description - Rhizome long-creeping, 10 mm diam., hairy; fronds 1-3 m long, 1-1.5 m wide; stipe stramineous; blade deltate, tripinnate to subquadripinnate; lower pinnae stalked, basal pinnae opposite, with basal pinnules not especially reduced; axes of penultimate segments winged on upper surface; sterile vein tips slender; lamina pubescent on lower surface, hairs 1.0 mm long, clear brown, stiff, spreading; indusium globular to subcylindrical, 1.0 mm deep, 1.0-1.3 mm wide.

Amér., t. 30. 1705, illustrating a plant from Hispaniola. The large, globular indusia and opposite basal pinnule segments distinguish this species.
