  • Discussion

Type. Nicaragua. Omotépé, Levy 1159 (P! - 2 sheets, photo NY!; isotype B!). This small, tripinnate species is similar in form and size to Asplenium delicatulum Presl (frag, of type—Haenke, NY!) of Peru but differs in many details. Asplenium delicatulum has stipes green to their base, indusia entire, sori that are located out on the ultimate segments, rhizome scales that are short (0.5-0.8 mm long), brown, clathrate and broad, and it spreads by means of slender, stolon-like roots. It is also epiphytic, rather than epipetric or terrestrial.

  • Distribution

Terrestrial and epipetric along river banks and road banks; Jamiltepec, Juchi-tán; 50-150 m. Mexico (Sin, Oax, Chis); Guat, Hond, Nic; Col.
