Discussion
Type. Jamaica. Swartz (S, photo US!; isotype B-Willd. 19916!). Asplenium bisectum Swartz, J. Bot. (Schrader) 1800(2): 55. 1801, nom. superfl. (based on A. dissectum Swartz). Among the once-pinnate members of sect. Sphenopteris (scaly rachises and sori at low angle), the small, deeply serrate pinnae, pinnatifid apex, and glandular hairs on the stipe distinguish Asplenium dissectum from A. serra in Oaxaca.
