Description
Species Description - Rhizome horizontal, compact to short-creeping; rhizome scales clathrate, linear to linear-lanceolate, 5-6 mm long, 0.8-1.0 mm wide; fronds 2-7 mm distant, simple, entire, glabrous, 15-45 cm long, 9-12 mm wide at widest part, attenuate at both ends, slightly falcate, 1.5-2.0 mm wide at base; stipe nearly lacking; costa evident, veins not evident, anastomosing, 2-3 rows of areoles on each side of costa; sporangia borne in sunken grooves, one on each side of costa, near the margin, sometimes interrupted; paraphyses multicellular with large brown, apical cell, 0.1 mm long; spores bilateral, whitish-cream.

Epiphytic or epipetric, in wet forests on both Atlantic and Pacific slopes; Choapan, Juchitán, Juquila, Pochutla, Putla, Tuxtepec; 50-800 m. Mexico (Nay, Gro, Ver, Oax, Chis); Guat to Pan; WI, Trin; Col to Braz.
