Description
Species Description - A pendent epiphyte whose cordlike, uniform divisions reach 2 m in length, 1- to 4-times dichotomous, the apical divisions freely sporangiate. Stems 1.5-2 mm thick (excluding leaves), or 4-7 mm thick including the leaves. Leaves crowded, spirally arranged in 14-16 ranks (or appearing whorled in 7's or 8's), rigidly ascending, incurved, subulate-attenuate, 8-11 mm long, 1-1.5 mm broad at base, entire, deeply concave on adaxial side, strongly convex beneath (from the abaxial or exposed side thus appearing terete), sharply keeled at the decurrent base. Sporangia orbicular or nearly so, cordate, ca. 1.5 mm broad.

Type. Incorrectly stated to have been collected in Califomia by Chamisso; however, authentic material from the herbarium of Bory (P) was collected by L'Herminier in Guadeloupe.
