Description
Genus Description - Trees. Leaves 1-even-pinnate. Stipules deciduous. Flowers in short, initially bracteate, pendent racemes towards ends of branches. Hypanthium turbinate; sepals 4, pinkish, imbricate; functional petals 3, the two lower reduced to rudiments; functional stamens 3, filaments basally fused; ovary-stipe fused to hypanthium. Legume indehiscent, irregularly oblong, subcompressed, succulent, becoming spongy or brittle-coriaceous, septate between seeds.
