Discussion
Psilorhegma suffruticosa (Kònig ex Roth.) Britt. (1930) C. planisiliqua auct. & Hort. C. beareana Hort. CN n = 28 (Pantulu, 1942, 1960). Apart from quantitative exomorphic characters, var. suffruticosa apparently differs from var. surattensis in being octoploid. Both Small (1933) and Britton and Rose (1930) reported it (Psilorhegma suffruticosa) as naturalized in Florida, apparently on the basis of a single collection: Small 8c Mosier from Brickell Hammock, Dade Co., Florida in 1929. I have two recent collections independent of cultivation.
